What started as one of the first luxury day spas in the United States nearly 40 years ago in Santa Monica has turned into an empire and Burke Williams is happy to call Santa Monica home while at the same time excited about all of the innovations taking place, including around public transportation, which will provide more access to Santa Monica and West LA as a whole.
Looking forward to 2025, we anticipate the growth of public transportation in Los Angeles, especially the Expo Line (recently renamed the E Line), being a game-changer by allowing people to work in Santa Monica and other areas without having to live in the area, deal with parking, traffic and other factors.
And because of that, we predict a rise in people applying for massage therapy jobs in Santa Monica in 2025 (Burke Williams is hiring) as well as tourists visiting Santa Monica to get luxury day spa services (facials, massages, etc.). If you can jump on the E Line or take an Uber/Lyft/Waymo to ultimate relaxation instead of driving, why not do that?
Additionally, this ties into the plans for the Olympics in 2028 where a “car-free” policy is being implemented, and we see Los Angeles continuing to go down that path in the next few years.
